The TEC 140 is the ultimate telescope for demanding amateurs looking for a most powerful, yet still portable apochromatic refractor. The telescope offers perfect images both on the optical centerline and off axis.

The Heart Of The TEC 140 - Oil-Spaced Triplet Objective

The TEC 140's objective is an oil-spaced triplet and completely free of reflections. With only two glass-to-air surfaces it offers a better light transmission than is possible in air-spaced objectives.

A high grade seven layer broadband anti-reflective coating (BBAR) is applied to each TEC 140.



Optical diagram of the TEC 140 Apo. The telescope offers excellent correction from 436 to 1000 nanometers. It was optimized for L546nm. Remaining chromatic aberration between 436 and 656nm is only 0.02% of the focal length.



Here you can see the excellent baffling and anti-reflective tube coating inside each TEC 140. Stray light is effectively reduced to practically zero.

The integrated mirror diagonal is of excellent optical quality and ideally supplements each TEC Apo as well as other top-range telescopes. It has a 2" barrel and accepts 5x 1.25" eyepieces. Of course the mechanical quality is also exceptional.
