Aperture 127mm - Focal Length 1270mm

| This most compact of all Intes Micro Maksutov Cassegrains already has all the great features of the larger models. In addition it is extremely compact and portable. Good photographical tripods carry this telescope easily. This makes the Alter M500 an ultra-compact all-purpose telescope that is ideally suited for airline travelling. With the optional focal reducer (0.55x) you turn the Alter M500 into a powerful astronomical telephoto lens for top-grade Deep Sky astro-photography. The focal ratio is reduced to f/5.5 for shorter exposure times and a larger photographical field. |

The Intes Micro Alter M603 is one of the most versatile Maksutov-Cassegrain telescopes that we know. With an aperture of 152mm it has enough light-gathering power for serious deep-sky observing. At the same time the telescope is still extremely compact and portable. It is even generally suited for airline travelling. Its zero image shift primary mirror focus mechanism allows you to use nearly any accessories you like, including binoviewers for binocular observing, high quality 2" accessories and focal reducers for astronomical imaging. With the optional focal reducer (0.55x) you turn the Alter M603 into a powerful astronomical telephoto lens for top-grade Deep Sky astro-photography. The focal ratio is reduced to f/5.5 for shorter exposure times and a larger photographical field. On the image to the left you can see the excellent multi-coating of the meniscus lens - just see how dark the meniscus lens is! You can also see the round openings for the active cooling mechanism. They assist the primary mirror cooling fan in reducing the cool-down time. |

The Intes Micro Alter M615 was designed for amateur astronomers looking for a powerful lunar and planetary observing tool. With its long focal ratio of f/15 the secondary mirror obstruction could be kept moderately small. The largest advantage of this planetary telescope is its compact design. Despite its long focal length the Intes Micro Alter M615 is still very portable and is held with good stability by portable mounts like the TS Astro-5. With a long focal length 2" wide angle eyepiece, for instance the TS WA 50mm, you get a comfortable true field of view of approx. 1.2°. This even allows some wide-field observations. For amateurs who want to do Deep-Sky astronomical imaging despite the long focal ratio we recommend the Intes Micro 0.55x reducer. This reducer changes the focal ratio to a faster f/8.35 for shorter exposure times. The Intes Micro Alter M615 has an integrated cooling fan (see image to the left) that drastically reduces the cool-down time. As a consequence the telescope is ready for use much sooner, a great bonus if you plan to do quick-fire observations of the moon or a planet. |

The Intes Micro Alter M703 is an excellent, powerful all-purpose telescope with a superb lunar and planetary performance. The telescope can be compared with a very good true apochromat with an aperture of 5". At the same time it collects significantly more light than such an apochromat. Contrary to popular belief a telescope's contrast will result in a better Deep Sky performance. Dark nebulae can be discerned more easily in front of a pitch black background sky. With the optional focal reducer (0.55x) you turn the Alter M703 into a powerful astronomical telephoto lens for top-grade Deep Sky astro-photography. The focal ratio is reduced to f/5.5 for shorter exposure times and a larger photographical field. |

The Intes Micro Alter M715 is a compact, no compromise planetary telescope. It provides clear, detailed, contrasty views of the moon and the planets. More often than not it is the Earth's atmosphere, not the telescope, that limits the resolving power. The secondary mirror obstruction is only 25% - a clear sign that this telescope was optimized for planetary observing. The big advantage of this telescope is its compact design. Despite its enormous aperture of 180mm and a focal length of 2700mm the telescope is still held sturdily by portable mounts like the TS Astro-5, the Celestron ADM (see image above) or the Celestron Advanced GoTo Mount (CAM). With a long focal length 2" wide angle eyepiece like the TS WA 50mm you get a comfortable field of view of approx. 1°. For amateurs who want to do Deep-Sky astronomical imaging despite the long focal ratio we recommend the Intes Micro 0.55x reducer. This reducer changes the focal ratio to a faster f/8.35 for shorter exposure times. The Intes Micro Alter M715 has an integrated cooling fan (see image to the left) that drastically reduces the cool-down time. As a consequence the telescope is ready for use much sooner, a great bonus if you plan to do quick-fire observations of the moon or a planet. The simple finderscope (image to the left) is replaced by the 90° 8x50 erect image finderscope. |

The Intes Micro Alter M806 was designed primarily for astronomical imaging. This is an excellent instrument for serious amateur astronomers looking for a no-compromise, top performance astronomical camera with a very high contrast and a particularly good image sharpness over the full photographical field. This telescopes fully illuminates a field of approx. 50mm diameter and offers a diffraction limited image over the entire usable field. An integrated field flattening lens on the rear end of the tube achieves this feat. Even large CCD chips can be attached to this telescope without problems. Focus is achieved by moving the primary mirror. As a result you can use many interesting accessories, like the Celestron Off Axis Guider or a further focal reducer that brings the optical train down to f/3.3, thus allowing for large field astro imaging. Of course you can also use the Alter M806 visually. The needed adaptors are offered separately. With the integrated cooling fan the cooldown time of the Alter M806 is drastically reduced. As a consequence the instrument is ready for use much sooner. |

With this plate the telescope can be attached directly to these mounts. If you have a mount without a quick exchange device or with the standard Vixen GP / Chinese EQ dovetail format, we offer the needed adaptation as well. Please send us an E-Mail for details! Cooling Fan A primary mirror cooling fan is included as a standard accessory. It accelerates the telescope's cool-down by a large degree, the telescope is ready for use much sooner. Collimation The primary mirror of this telescope can be collimated easily. Collimation is kept intact even during bumpy transport. Adaptation of Accessories At the rear end the telescope offers the standard SC (2") thread. From there you can choose among various adaptations for photographical and visual accessories. Please see below for the most important adaptors! |

The Intes Micro Alter M809 is a premium choice foc amateurs looking for a particularly good contrast and image sharpness. The telescope is still portable, but it requires a sturdy mount with its weight of 13kgs. With its focal ratio of f/10 the Alter M809 is well suited for nearly all purposes. No matter whether you are into planetary observing or Deep Sky photography, the Alter M809 brings an excellent performance. On the moon and the planet the Alter M809 can be compared with a true apochromat of 150mm aperture. At the same time it has the much better Deep Sky performance with its much larger light gathering area. Its excellent contrast, e.g. through the elaborate internal baffling system (see image to the left), makes the telescope an even match for somewhat larger Schmidt Cassegrain telescopes (SCTs). With the optional focal reducer (0.55x) you turn the Alter M809 into a powerful astronomical telephoto lens for top-grade Deep Sky astro-photography. The focal ratio is reduced to f/5.5 for shorter exposure times and a larger photographical field. |

The Intes Micro Alter M815 resembles an ultimate and final choice for serious planetary observers. Its large aperture, combined with an enormous contrast and image sharpness, combined with a compact design allows for "high end" planetary observing. With its compact mechanical design (the telescope is only 640mm long) you can move the telescope to the best possible observing location. You are not tied to a stationary observatory. Once set up the telescope offers a contrast, resolution and image sharpness that can otherwise only be found in a true apochromatic refractor with an aperture of 180mm. This feat is achieved with the small secondary mirror obstruction of only 25%. With a long focal length 2" wide angle eyepiece like the TS WA 50mm you get a comfortable field of view of approx. 0.9°. While being a match for above mentioned 180mm apochromat for planetary observing the Alter M815 clearly beats its competitor on the Deep Sky simply due to its much larger light gathering capacity. You can enjoy Deep-Sky views with a reasonably large field of view and a contrast that makes you see fainter details than in comparable Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. | Maksutov Cassegrains Maksutov Cassegrains have a similar optical design as the well-known Schmidt Cassegrains. They also share the same basic properties. Nonetheless Mak-Cassegrains and Schmidt Cassegrains cannot easily be compared.
The most important advantages of the Maksutov-Cassegrains are:
Maksutov Newtonians Maksutov Newtonians share the same basic optical principle with a classical Newtonian telescope. Contrary to the classical Newtonians the Mak-Newtonians are equipped with a meniscus correcting lens at the front end. The combination of the meniscus lens with a precisely fitted spherical primary mirror produces an image quality, contrast and sharpness that can otherwise only be found in an apochromatic refractor of similar size. The secondary mirror is attached directly to the meniscus lens, eliminating the need for secondary spider vanes.
