Counterweights

We always recommend to have additional counterweight on the counterweight shaft rather than using less counterweights further from the center. That way you will keep down vibrations and will of course also have reserves for heavy accessories.

Dovetail plates for various different mounts. If you are not sure which plate will fit your mount and telescope best just send a request by E-Mail.

Dovetail plates are the connecting parts between a telescope and a mount. The mount needs to have a quick release clamp to accomodate the plate.

There are two different common dovetail plate formats:
The Vixen format is probably the most common dovetail plate format. These plates fit - among others - these mounts:
- Vixen GP-E, GP, GP-D2, Sphinx, Porta, Custom, ...
- Synta EQ-4, EQ-5, H-EQ5, EQ-6, ...
- TS Astro-3 (only PS and PS Foto), TS Astro-5
- Celestron ADM, CAM
- all mounts with the Baader quick release clamp

The larger Losmandy format (3") is common in many larger mounts, e.g.:
- all current Losmandy mounts
- Celestron CGE
- OTE

Simple Dovetail Plate PS
A compact and inexpensive dovetail plate for most Vixen format mounts. Also fits the TS Astro-3 and Lidl mounts. Does not fit on the EQ-6.

Dovetail Plates PS 21 and PS 32
Good quality anodized aluminium dovetail plates for various telescopes and all Vixen-format mounts except Astro-3 and Lidl mount.

Massive Aluminium Dovetail Plates PSA 20 and PSA 40
For heavy telescopes we offer the German-made PSA 20 and PSA 40 massive aluminium dovetail plates. You can easily modify them with additional holes and threads to accept nearly any telescope.

Dovetail Plate with 1/4" Camera Adaptation

A short dovetail plate with 1/4" camera thread . With this plate you can attach your camera or binoculars directly to standard mounts (Vixen, Celestron, TS, Synta, ...)

Applications
With this plate you can mount spotting scopes, binoculars (with tripod adaptor), cameras, tele lenses, ... on Vixen format mounts. This plate allows for several unique adaptations.

The TS Duomount is the ideal adaptation even for heavy telescopes. Here you can see a 200/1200mm Newtonian and a 127mm Maksutov mounted on an EQ-6.

Many amateur astro-photographers like or even need to use a guiding scope for manual correction of the periodic error that any mount has. The TS Duomount allows for the parallel use of two telescopes on your mount. You can quickly set-up or break down the entire assembly through the use of quick exchange couplings for both telescopes and the Duomount itself. You can use our standard dovetail plates.

In order to balance different telescopes you can move the TS Duomount laterally. You can balance telescopes of drastically different weight. With a perfect balance you will notice drastically reduced vibrations.

- the (lacking) stability of the primary telescope's tube has no influence on the stability of the guide scope adaptaion.

Free Choice of Telescope Connections
You can choose between different saddle plates for your telescopes. You can choose two Losmandy-format clamps, two GP-format deluxe clamps or a mixture thereof. We even have a clamp for Zeiss format dovetail plates. You can see the Losmandy and GP format clamps on the images above. Unless you specify which clamps you want to get the standard scope of delivery is two Losmandy-format clamps.

Dual Axis Motor Drive

For Vixen GP-E, GP, GP-D2, EQ-4, EQ-5, ...

These are quartz-controlled motor drives with reasonable tracking precision. Both the single- and dual axis drives come complete with motor(s), gears, controller and battery pack (batteries not included). A manual clutch allows you to continue using the manual slow motion controls of your mount.

The motor drives are suited for simple astro-imaging. For more serious long exposure astro-imaging we recommend one of the more sophisticated motor drives below.

Photographical GoTo Upgrade Kit - with Powerflex SDI controller, display, high speed motors and 2,000+ object database.

The TS GoTo Upgrade Kit is a high quality alternative to cheaper Chinese GoTo kits. It offers full GoTo controll independent from a Desktop or Laptop computer and adds to that several features that make it particularly suited for astro-imaging.

Powerflex SDI

MTS-3SDI controller with the optional display.

The Powerflex MTS-3SDI has all features of the SLP, plus the following additional features:

can be upgraded to new Software versions regularly without having to return the controller to the manufacturer. The update software is available at the Boxdörfer website.
Software-Updates are free of charge. Only the object database for GoTo costs 75 Euros extra
