Tele Vue 76

The Tele Vue-76 combines Pronto's compact size with the APO optical performance of the Tele Vue-85.

The expansive 5.5° rich-field drizzles your view with delicate jewel-like stars, while the APO performance of the new Nagler designed, multi-coated 2-element objective and 2" Everbrite diagonal produce natural stellar and planetary color rendition even at the highest useful powers.

Small size and lighter weight permit use of lighter-duty tripods for easy field carrying and transportation. The padded shoulder bag provides protection and room for the scope and six eyepieces. If your interests crossover from astronomical to spotting or birding, and you demand the ultimate in portable performance the Tele Vue-76 is always waiting to deliver.

Tele Vue 85

Tele Vue 85 with 2" Everbrite Star Diagonal and TeleVue eyepiece

The TeleVue 85 is probably the most popular instrument in TeleVue's family of apochromatic refractors. It offers a much larger aperture than the Pronto, with only slightly higher weight and slightly larger dimensions. Only very few instruments of this size pack such an enormous optical and photographical performance.

An aperture of 85mm and a focal length of 600mm reveal a great many details in countless obects within and without the solar system. The extraordinary optical quality of the TV 85 demonstrates how much an 85mm refractor is able to perform.

The telescope is also suited for astro-imaging, but without the optional focal reducer / field flattener sharpness deteriorates towards the edge. With the TeleVue Field Flattener S this effect is eliminiated entirely, resulting in pinpoint stars towards the edge at a faster f/5.6.

False colour is much less prominent than in other telescopes. Ultra-precise optics and the use of special ED glasses result in excellent optical properties.

The TV 85 weighs only 2700 grams at a length of only 55cm. The telescope can therefore be considered highly portable.

Optional Carry Case of the NP 101

The TeleVue NP 101 is a top notch four element apochromatic refractor. The revised "Nagler-Petzval" optical layout make it one of the most versatile apochromats on the market.

It has an aperture of 101mm and a focal length of 540mm.

Four lenses are assembled in two groups. Special glasses are used for an excellent colour correction and flat field. Without a separate field flattener you get pinpoint stars towards the edge both optically and photographically.

With the famous TeleVue 31mm Nagler you get a true field of view of 4.7° and an exit pupil of 6mm. This allows you to enjoy phantastic views of the milky-way, extended nebulae, ...

Lunar and Planetary Observations
With its excellent optical quality the telescope renders high contrast images in magnifications up to 300x. You will see many fine details. Contrast is equal to some telescopes twice the size of the NP 101! Visual resolution: 1.1"

Astro Imaging
The TeleVue NP 101 is a perfect telephoto lens with a focal length of 540mm and a focal ratio of f/5.35. The telescope offers a flat field and therefore pinpoint stars and full illumination towards the edge. Photographical resolution is 260 lines per millimeter.

The NP 101 weighs 3700 grams at a tube length of 84cm.

TeleVue 102 on Vixen GP-DX

The Tele Vue 102 is a classical doublet apochromatic refractor of highest quality. With its relatively long (for an APO) focal ratio colour correction is superb, making this telescope a prime choice for dedicated lunar and planetary observers.

The TV 102 has an aperture of 102mm and a focal length of 877mm.

Even at maximum magnifications around 300x you will be pressed to see any false colour. With its two lens design it is said to have an edge in on-axis image sharpness over the more expensive NP 101.

Visual Use:
With the TeleVue 55mm Plossl (apparent field of view: 50°) you get a respectable 3.1° field of view at 16x. This qualifies the TeleVue 102 as a true wide field telescope. At the same time you easily reach very high magnifications for serious lunar and planetary observing.

Astro Imaging:
For astro-imaging you should equip the TV 102 with the optional TeleVue 0.8x field flattening lens. Then you get a large flat field of view and pinpoint stars towards the edge of the film format at a shorter f/6.88.

The TeleVue NP 127 is the flagship of TeleVue's family of apochromatic refractors. It is akin to the NP 101, but offers even more light gathering power. Only small numbers of this excellent telescope are built.
